As of July 31, 2015, the Montréal Exchange is pleased to list futures and options on the S&P/TSX Composite Index Banks (Industry Group) and the S&P/TSX Capped Utilities Index, offering participants the possibility to effectively generate returns per specific economic sector. Sector index futures and options closely follow the price level of their underlying indices, allowing participants to:
- Trade market sentiment
- Measure the returns of industry sectors: financials and utilities
- Construct index portfolios
- Trade without short-selling restrictions
